Amelia Galgon has lived and worked in Brooklyn since receiving her B.A in Art and B.S. in Computer Science from Lehigh University in 2017. Her work predominately focuses on the portrait and the figure and typically depicts close friends and family as well as her own self. Her most recent work uses the body as a vessel to play and experiment with line and color as a way of exploring queerness and her own queer lens. Her work has been featured in exhibitions across Philadelphia and New York City and in multiple online exhibitions, including with Tussle Projects, Visionary Art Collective, and Philadelphia Sketch Club. Most recently, she received the award for Excellence in Watercolor from Philadelphia Sketch Club in their 2021 Works on Paper Juried Exhibition.
At its core, James' work is about intimacy. His sexual identity and personal relationships form a prism, through which the content of his paintings bend and refract as they examine intimacy between strangers. People on the street, the subway, and couples sharing private moments in public are all viewed from a queer stance to ask questions about loneliness, contact, and communication. By combining collected images and personal experiences, James creates composite sketches that repurpose the initial encounters captured in them.
Hanna Brody lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated with a BA in Studio Art and Psychology from Lewis and Clark College in 2016. Her paintings embody friends, family, loved ones, herself, and those who surround her. She paints to evoke a sense of intimacy and understanding towards her subject’s emotions and psychological states. She uses layers of water based and oil paint to obscure and transform elements of her paintings, sometimes including multiple integrated angles to create a seemingly whole portrait. Through portraiture she explores themes of alienation and isolation as well as empathy and collective emotion. She has been a member of NYC Crit Club since 2018 and will be participating in a residency program with Dear Artists Projects this coming April.
Mari Sarai is a Japanese Art photographer who has worked in New York, London, and Tokyo. MARI was born in Nara, Japan. She studied photography and English at Santa Monica College in Los Angeles when she was a teenager. After beginning her career as a photojournalist in New York, Mari moved back to Japan and transitioned to fashion photography. After 6 years fashion photographer's carrier in Tokyo, she relocated to London where she became a well-established fashion photographer, shooting for magazines such as i-D, Harper's Bazaar UK and Dazed & Confused. in 2014, she moved back to New York to seek her American dream with her family. Her work appearing in the likes of Interview Magazine and Vogue Japan, shooting likes of Adele, Scarlett Johansson, and in late Amy Winehouse.
What do a juicy fillet of salmon and a body half-submerged in bath water have in common? Through soft-colored, naturalistic paintings, Amy explores the beauty of female bodies in everyday life - the beauty of vulnerable, soft flesh itself safe from the glare of cameras and gloss of magazine pages.
In her work and in her life, Jadie strives to educate, inspire, and uplift others. Her work reflects her passion for fostering human relations and connection, inspired by connections made not only through her pursuit of visual art but through dance and her work as a vocalist and actor. Jadie’s loose, colorful brushstroke places those concepts on canvas, creating warm imagery that links to the divine and human nature as a whole.
She is aware of the precariousness of her own identity. This gives her permission to occupy, more comfortably and more productively, the liminal space that is what Ien Ang would call in-between-ness—for Ang, hybridity is a welcome respite from the boundaries that children of the diaspora are often confined within. The self-generated idealization of her far-away “foreign” childhood hometown is often glaring, and the hybrid woman finds herself at once escaping to and challenging her possibly-confabulated halcyon memories, the psychic remembrances of an apparent “motherland”. (One gazes at her homelands with weary lucidity and any illusory pane shatters.)
What if we saw nature not as distinguishable things like trees, mountains, and soil, but as a cloud of influences that surround us? Harkening back to her memories growing up in nature and a personal interest in Ecofeminism, Johanna's method of printmaking is in itself a dialogue with nature. In cyanotypes, the intentional outlines of base drawings intermingle with spontaneous factors like the angle, brightness, and hue of sunlight - even the canvas it is printed on is candidly frayed at the edges. In her other prints also, watercolor-like effects make even the ground appear buoyant.
Nikki was a musician most of his life. In 2014, he decided to teach himself painting by diving in headfirst with the approach of learning by doing. Embracing the unknown and trusting his intuition, he has been producing many works both haunting and decorative.
An anastomosis is a connection- an opening of tubes, vessels, branches, often used to define surgical steps. It’s also used to define Yana Ushakova’s latest body of work. In her figures she reshapes those bodily pathways in a way that bypasses the male gaze. Inspired by her chemotherapy experience, the painted forms embody survival, restructuring, and growth.
Born in 1984, Linden spent her youth in the urban Sonoran desert of Phoenix, Arizona before moving to Southern California to obtain her BA in Studio Art. She's since lived and worked across Europe, Asia, and Oceania. Linden's work has been published and exhibited internationally. She has participated in residencies at La Filature des Calquières (France), Tiapapata Art Centre (Samoa), Cowwarr Art Space (Australia), and Tenjinyama Art Studio (Japan). She currently lives in Mount Holly, Vermont.

Cole Puetz is an American artist based in Tucson, Arizona. His depictions of the modern queer experience offer an access point into the subconscious mind of both artist and viewer. Objects and symbols within his work leave vague imprints of familiarity as if existing within a memory. Sharp divergences in style and specificity form a detailed collage of dynamic, powerfully charged imagery. Each buried, unseen detail unlocks a new door, revealing private, concealed thoughts and desires. Puetz’s creative practice is a form of inner contemplation and subconscious realization. Internal conflicts existing in the present moment of the creation process are transformed into emblematic visual stories that bring the artist and viewer on a journey of self discovery. Each fragment having separate connotations that merge to form a larger, complex narrative.
