Adrienne created this piece by cutting and reassembling pieces of prints of an original film capture of FDR Station at 909 Third Avenue / 55th St., NYC. The black-and-white palettes lets us hone in on the architectural details, namely the arrangement of windows, which through repetition transforms through an entirely new biomechanical shape.
Born in Brooklyn, NY; Works between New York NY and Silver Spring, MD
Combining black and white photography and collage, Adrienne’s unique perspective uses urban backdrops to create abstract shapes. Hand-cut-and-assembled, her collages are anything but static, with texture and layering emphasizing their handmade quality. The complex, layered nature of Adrienne’s practice subtly blends fragmented photographs into geometric forms. You’ll love Adrienne if: your life is set to the tune of a Gershwin soundtrack
