BIO

Sandra is a Colombian artist based in New York who works with painting and mixed media. Her works have been exhibited in museums, including El Museo del Barrio, the Coney Island Museum and the Long Island Museum in New York, and the Museo de Arte Moderno and Museo MAJA in Colombia. She is a recipient of the Nathalie Angles Award and the Sommerville Arts Prize. Sandra holds a BFA from the University of Antioquia and an MFA in painting from Hunter College in New York.

Sandra Mack-Valencia is a painter who weaves color, patterns, and stories into vibrant narratives. Raised in Colombia during the boom of the magical realism literary movement, she now works in New York, drawing inspiration from diverse sources such as found images and fashion. Combining photo transfer, drawing, and painting, her work explores reality, memory, and intuition.
