"Robert Dec continues to experiment with a variety of styles and mediums of painting. His favorite mediums are acrylic and oil painting, photography, photo transfers, collage and pastels. His work ranges from very realistic, to abstracted, to completely abstract- with most work inspired by landscape, the environment and music. His latest works feature natural elements conveyed in a unique and expressive manner. His intention is to express and embellish the subject with paint and other materials, using surface textures, glazes and color while still retaining the recognizable and organic elements of the motif. With his landscapes, he tries to reflect energy changes caused by the Sun, the clouds and the weather. In all his work, he tries to combine the familiar with the unexpected."
