BIO
Peter Pundit moved to the US when he was 23 from India and that's when his art education and development began.
He had no plans to become an artist, but found that he had the ability to create art. For a very long time, he did not
understand abstraction but started appreciating the work of Chinese abstract painters - he liked that beauty was always central to their work.
Although Pundit is not of Indian origin, he doesn't think of his art as having much to do with India. His artistic awareness
grew and developed in his experience living in the US. The idea of originality and creating original works is very deeply ingrained
in America, however he thinks the idea of beauty is out of favor as is the development of skill. He wonders if that has caused young
artists to move towards design and architecture which embrace both beauty and skill.
