"I’ve always loved to roam and observe. On my last residency a musician joked that every time they look out the window, there’s Ann, closely inspecting some little living thing. That’s all I do really, studies of nature: color, shapes, relationship with things like light and water. It’s all so fascinating! Often things remain studies; other times they become a photo, an installation, or an abstract painting. The only goal is to bring myself and maybe a few others to a closer partnership with our environment."
