Tell us about yourself & how you became an artist
Art is something I always knew I would do. After high school I went to Ohio University for fine arts & then moved to NYC to attend Pratt Institute for graduate school in Painting. Been living I working in NYC since.
What is your art addressing? What kind of message do you want to convey through your art?
I don't think it is necessarily addresses something it gives nods to fine craftsmanship, women's work & process = product.
What kind of emotions do you want to stir in your audience?
I want my work to evoke happiness & make people feel good
What is your creative process?
I am a process based painter whom creates pour based paintings and paintings comprised of layers of dried acrylic polymer.

Do you have a routine or ritual for when you're working?
I usually start my studio days with some Caffeine & something sweet
Where / When / How do you get inspired?
I love to bake & my baking & art definitely influence each other. I'm an 80's kid & love memorabilia & childhood toys, candy, colors.
What makes you happy?
Warm sunshine, wearing flip flops, having a good meal, pistachio ice cream, orange tic tacs, taking a bath, snuggling my dog, family time with my kids & husband & spending time in the studio
What impact does living in New York have on you?
I've lived in NYC for 20 years. I love the energy, hope & passion it emits, the cultural opportunities it creates & its diversity.

How has your art changed throughout your career?
I would say its become more streamlined & more focused on a central polymer product that has been part of my consumption my entire artist life. Ive just changed the ways in which I use it over time. I would say my work is even more processed based now...
