Jacqueline’s works from 2020 are also some of most highly textured ones to the extent of sculptural. She achieves this by experimenting with new materials like charcoal or mica, an actual mineral found in granite. Then, the gradation of pigments applied on top brings out the highs and lows of this “topography” even further. Jaqueline also sometimes experiments with imprints of pre-existing surfaces which have inspired much of this body of work.
Born in Long Island, NY / Works in Brooklyn
Jacqueline's work stems from her acute fascination with surfaces often overlooked in our natural and urban environments. With the use of paint, concrete and other building materials, she creates abstract, sculptural paintings that mimic these surfaces and call up nostalgia, ephemera, and the dichotomy between beauty and imperfection. Her paintings rely on themselves - on time and all the elements taking hold of them.
