Taste of You

“Buds who taste things together stick together.” - Friendsgiving
“You’re so cute, I could just eat you up!” - grandmas

LET’S TALK ABOUT

What Inspired This Collection?

While you can see, hear, and smell things from a distance, taste happens at an extremely close encounter. Perhaps that’s why it’s such an intimate experience to share with others - “salty”, “sweet”, and “bitter” are all words that describe subtle emotions.

PARTICIPATING ARTISTS

  • Corey Lovett

Corey Lovett is a Brooklyn based artist and is currently pursuing a BFA degree in Painting at Pratt Institute. Corey paints images to evoke a feeling or mood within the viewer. His work is a combination of both abstract and figurative representation.

  • Madeline Walker

Madeline Walker is a Visual Artist working at the intersection of Sculpture and Painting. You'll like Madeline if: all your best doodles come from fidgeting.

  • Juan Negroni

Sometimes, a feeling, story, or place are so intricately colorful it’s impossible to describe them in words. Sometimes, all three exist at once. This is certainly the case for Juan Negroni, who’s mixed media paintings map out memories and spaces in the abstract, playing with colors and motifs that pay homage to his home; Puerto Rico. Now based in Texas, Juan takes us up close to a vibrant garden where overlapping neon colored plants and patterns make nature itself seem dull.

  • Ryan Patrick Martin

Painter, sculptor, and musician Ryan Patrick Martin is one of those rare people who creates his own reality - one of playfully strange objects and environments. His works are often informed by an interest in sound synthesis, movement, vibrancy, multi-sensory experiences and an endless search to find humor and harmony in the slop.

  • Courtney Knight

Courtney Knight studied Illustration in Boston, MA. She explores word play, sex, intimacy, and intimacy through technology. Courtney has been making commission work, small publications, local shows, and started a collaborative illustration magazine called Medium Orange- she would like to expand her creative community.
