    Original Artwork

Dimensions: Height 20 in x Width 16 in.

Medium: Acrylic and rhinestones on canvas

Juan puts a twist to the traditionally machismo image of a cowboy and reclaims it for their own fantasy The question mark at the end of the title is emblematic of that twist, like the rhinestones, shine marks, and the vibrant purple and pink used on canvas. "It’s not an imagery that belongs to me or one that I relate too, but it’s something I’m taking ownership of. If I want to live my cowboy fantasy, I can.", says Juan.

The work comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.

Born in Colombia / Works in Chicago

Floating from Colombia, Texas, and now Chicago, Juan creates their own mythologies from narratives they encountered in these places - from cowboys in popular culture to the jungle that remains fond in their childhood memory. When placed in an alien setting like the jungle, cowboys no longer have the macho, confident air but look like tragic heroes and the clash between soccer players become more erotic than violent.
