    This part of Certain Dark Things most resembles a tiered escape - except, there's nothing soft or sweet about it. Rough brushstrokes on the outside of the vessel feel halfway between concrete and gesso, while the black vertical pole penetrating them all makes you wonder about the abyss of a space inside.
