    Cage

    Original Artwork

Dimensions: Height 40 in x Width 30 in.

Medium: Acrylic and pencil on canvas

[From the artist] “Cage” was one of my more confusing paintings, which I thought I had finished once and then revisited later to find that just a bit more work was needed to feel the coalescence necessary to release a painting. The first iteration was called ‘T.P.’ and had more light yellow and bright yellow colors acting as the pop. Eventually, under the influence of a John Cage piece I was listening to, I added more white and black, and the whole painting became more masculine and musical as a result.

    Works in Brooklyn

Kimmy Quilin with her choppy bob haircut and a living room shrouded in warm clay colors, could be her own indie movie heroine. Underlying Kimmy’s study of colors and forms, whether in expressionistic strokes or recent minimalism, is a love and attention to things around her. You'll love Kimmy if you: appreciate diners in the city for their neon tubes and retro leather booths despite their terrible service.
